Kate Middleton Just Set the Record Straight on This Rumor About Her Diet
"Don't believe everything you read," the duchess warned.
When it comes to Kate Middleton's dietary preferences, the duchess herself warns the public against embracing unfounded reports in the media. And that especially applies to a particular food — or more specifically, beverage — preference that has been attributed to the royal and been widely discussed... but apparently is only based upon rumor.
Indeed, recently the royal mom stopped by a London cafe that employs people overcoming addictions and homelessness. A charity runs the cafe, and members of its board were careful to select special treats for Kate and her husband Prince William, who joined her at the visit, to nibble on. On the table: cakes, tea, and almond milk.
According to a representative for the charity, the idea for the plant-based, non-dairy beverage sprang from a rumor about the expecting royal's preferences.
"We put almond milk on the table because we had read that she had it," said Kim Gardener. The royal's alleged response? That oh-so-appropriate warning and a confession to boot: "Don't believe everything you read — I don't even like almond milk." Whoops! Perhaps just a dash of whole milk, then?
Even though the almond milk wasn't quite to Kate's taste, the cakes certainly were. According to those who witnessed the visit, the regal couple had nothing but kind words to say about the sweets. Prince William was even heard saying: “You should be on [The Great British Bake Off]!"
If sweeter words of praise exist, we're unaware of them.
