Was the Latest Kardashian Cake Up to Kar-Jenner Standards? Discuss

The Kar-Jenner family is known for being over the top in just about every area in life — and that very much includes the cakes they regularly procure to mark celebratory occasions. We are quite accustomed to dropping our jaws pretty much every time one of them trots out a towering or otherwise wildly theme-y confection for a birthday (looking at you, Kylie) — or even a half birthday (hi, Khloe).

Just recently, we were in awe of the truly insane first birthday cake that Kylie Jenner got her daughter Stormi Webster and the gold-dipped cake and donuts that Khloe Kardashian gave to her besties Malika and Khadijah Haqq. In general, the more outrageous or opulent... the better.

So given their usual high standard, we were perhaps a bit surprised to see the super simple numeral cake that marked the wrap of Season 16 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which Kim Kardashian shared on her Instagram Stories. Where's the flair? The rotating carousel ponies? The roller coaster? The barfing Barbie doll?

Hey, we get it — the family has a lot going on right now, and perhaps cake isn't at the forefront of anyone's mind at the moment. Or more likely, they weren't in charge of the cake-buying operation — because surely they'd have opted for something a bit more Instagram friendly, no?
