Isn't It Ironic

Rachel doesn't miss the irony of having her first cover shoot while she's pregnant, but she celebrates the fun parts of her job.

So, the Elle shoot went great this week -- Jeremiah proved himself as a more than capable styling assistant -- I guess it was kind of his first test. I love having Joey with me on set, he is constantly making me laugh, and I can always count on his honest opinion. The whole day was so much fun! The accessories that were pulled for this shoot were kind of insane. Elle seriously hooked it up. There were so many incredible pieces which made it a difficult edit, I wanted to use everything! Every look was incredible -- from the Marc Jacobs knit with the big floppy hat to the final look with the bright orange Balenciaga bathing suit -- so major. Styling an editorial is one of the best parts of my job -- it’s kind of like playing dress up. It was especially difficult this time around though, at nine months pregnant, constantly trying to tweak the model, adjust the look, fix a shoe strap, etc. Thank goodness I had Jordan, Joey, and Jeremiah.

I am so happy I agreed to do The Hollywood Reporter shoot, despite being completely exhausted; it was such a great afternoon. It's kind of ironic that my first opportunity for a cover happens when I'm 37.5 weeks pregnant! It was a little difficult finding something to fit over my belly. All in all, everything went so smooth, I love shooting with Rodger, and the photographer was such a dear friend of mine and put me at ease. it was a perfect day. The whole experience was humbling. It's such an honor to be recognized and featured by my peers within the industry -- I am still so touched.
