Rachel Zoe's Maxi-mum Glam
Rachel dishes on balancing the Rachel Zoe Collection with mommy-hood (and how to stay glamorous through it all).
As stressful as it is to put together a fashion show, the aftermath is when things really start to get interesting. That's when I have to read all of the press reviews, and then go with my team to meet with retailers and buyers to see what the market wants to purchase. The pressure is always on!
The hardest part (this time around) with my spring collection was finding out that some of my favorite pieces were not going to be produced. This is very common in the design process, but I just get so attached to each piece -- each one is like another baby! I'm constantly learning how to make beautiful and glamorous pieces that women can incorporate into their every day wardrobes while still remaining true to my vision.
Aside from my job as a designer, this is when I really started to learn how to multitask: by keeping one eye on all of the other parts of my business (styling, digital and mommyhood) at all times. This includes launching a new blow-dry salon, Dream Dry! I'm just trying to keep up while keeping everything totally glamorous.
