That Barbie Hair Everyone Is Talking About? Kandi Burruss Once Rocked the *Exact* Same Style

Once again, Kandi Burruss posted the most amazing throwback Instagram — and let's face it, we didn't think The Real Housewives of Atlanta beauty could top the photo evidence she shared of her former gig as a hair dye model. 

This too-funny Real Housewives #TBT moment is inspired by current events: A documentary about Barbie dolls just came out, and there's been some mixed reaction about one of the Barbie's hair posted in an Instagram photo to promote the doc. 

But for Kandi, that Barbie doll's hair looked kind of familiar. "I wasn’t gonna post this pic but since I have a sense of humor I decided to give y’all a good laugh! I saw people roasting the hair on the Barbie pic today & I laughed so hard because I had this same hairstyle before," Kandi wrote in the caption of her Instagram. 

This look is circa 14 years ago, Kandi says. "This was my real hair, no weave," she explained. "It used to be blonde but my roots were black so when @paulabrittstyles braided the side it had a similar look to the Black Barbie in the pic y’all were talking about."

She posted a bunch of laughing emojis, but Kandi looks adorable in this family portrait — and her followers agree. "Barbie owe you a check for that hair inspo tho," one said, and another wrote: "Kandi, you're the real Barbie!"
