After Dropping 50lbs., Riley Burruss Is on a Mission to Help Others Lose Weight
Kandi Burruss' daughter has committed herself to a healthier lifestyle, and she's "started a movement to motivate others."
We've been inspired by Riley Burruss' health and fitness journey: The Real Housewives of Atlanta teen committed to a new healthier lifestyle in 2018, and lost 52 pounds along the way. "She did it the right way by working out 5 days a week & watching her calorie intake," proud mom Kandi Burruss said last summer.
It's something Riley committed to by herself, Kandi told The Lookbook last fall: "She was just being proactive about what she wants to make happen with her life."
Now Riley is using her platform to help others get healthier too, with her new effort called "Get Riled Up." Riley explained the movement in a video on social media: "You guys have all been following my journey for awhile now, and we all know I've been going through the ups and downs of weight loss and trying to get healthy and this month I want us to all stay motivated and Get Riled Up." As part of the event, Riley hosted a free exercise day for families last weekend during Childhood Obesity Month.
Kandi couldn't be prouder. "My baby girl @rileyburruss is my #wcw today. I’m not sure if she can be my wcw but if she can that’s who I pick... Because not only did she push herself to #GetRiledUp about fitness, she also started a movement to motivate others. We all know the struggle of trying to lose weight. Keep pushing baby girl! You’re helping me get motivated & I need the motivation. Love you!" she gushed in a social media post.
It looks like the event was a big success, from Riley's Instagram snaps. This 17-year-old deserves major props for giving back to her community and inspiring everyone to "Get Riled Up" and get active.
