Tanya Sam's Incredible, Over-the-Top Gown Is Wearable Art (Literally)
The Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie stunned at this event hosted by Beyoncé's mom Tina Knowles Lawson.
We thought that Tanya Sam's Kentucky Derby hat was fancy, but we hadn't seen anything yet. The Real Housewives of Atlanta newcomer hit the red carpet in California this weekend for Richard Lawson and Tina Knowles Lawson's charity event Wearable Art Gala, and Tanya took the dress code very seriously. (As one should when attending a gala hosted by Beyoncé's mom!)
Tanya looked like a masterpiece in her colorful cape gown with a thigh-high slit and spiky neon crown, which all fit with the gala's theme in honor of Beyoncé's new movie, a remake of The Lion King.
She explained on Instagram, tagging fiancé Paul Judge and the creator of both of their vibrant outfits, a young fashion grad named Zayden The Designer: "His collection is called “ The Perception of Us” and centers around the misrepresentation of black designers in the fashion industry. The collection takes you through a timeline of what the black people have experience. The print was digitally created by Zayden and is his own interpretation of a African tribes — the overall message is unity, strength and resilience."
Everything was coordinated, from those neon sandals and crown to her fringe earrings that channeled the feathers in Tanya's cape.
Talk about wearable art!
