At Chateau Shereé, the Living Room Alone Cost $40K to Furnish
The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Shereé Whitfield explained the biggest price tags in her home, including “chandeliers that are $10,000.”
On the July 10 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Marlo Hampton began the process of selecting furniture for her new home, which was 12 to 14 months away from completion. As she looked at pieces and ordered some custom options, Shereé Whitfield joined her to offer advice.
“What’s going to be the most expensive room, you think? The living room?” Marlo asked Shereé, who famously spent many years building her Chateau Shereé. After Shereé confirmed Marlo’s assumption was correct, she shared how much she spent on her own living space. “My living room was probably, maybe 40 something [thousand dollars],” she said. “I’ve got chandeliers that are $10,000. I’ve got some that are $7,000.” (Watch the video above to see what it looks like.)
“So I’m gonna spend at least $40,000 on the living room,” Marlo concluded, to which Shereé replied, “At least.”
On the May 22 episode of the show, Marlo shared her preliminary plans for her new home, including a “department store”–style closet (that will be bigger than her bedroom), a “lounge area,” and a “grand entrance.”
In the video above, Shereé opens up about her approach to interior design as she shows several rooms of her house. “I love detail,” she says. “Everything is hand-picked by me. I love Christopher Guy, so you’ll see a lot of his pieces. I love my plants, my sconces.”
