Cynthia Bailey Teases Exciting Business Move
The RHOA and RHUGT alum casually shared a career update in a Flashback Friday post.
Cynthia Bailey hasn’t lost her entrepreneurial spirit.
While mostly known for her TV and modeling career, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum has also established herself as a full-fledged businesswoman. The mother of one has secured multiple brand partnerships, opened a modeling agency, delved into podcasting, and launched a leather accessories line called CB VIOR. But one of her most famous ventures was, without a doubt, her eponymous eyewear brand that was announced in 2015.
Cynthia teases eyewear line revival
The business had a steady run during its first several years but seemingly came to a halt in 2020. The official Instagram for Cynthia Bailey Eyewear has been inactive since the summer of 2021, with its last post teasing some kind of revival. Since then, many fans have wondered when the company would make its big comeback, if ever. Well, according to Cynthia’s recent Instagram post, the wait is almost over.
On June 16, The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip alum announced that she was “relaunching [her] eyewear line soon!” Cynthia dropped the news in a Flashback Friday post in which she posed next to TV and radio personality Nick Cannon.
“Wow! Look what I found! That time my friend [Nick Cannon] asked me to be the model for his photo shoot [and] music video!!!” she captioned her Instagram. “Will post photo shoot later! I was so flattered because he could have easily used a younger model but he wanted to show ageless beauty. Trying to remember when we shot this. Had to be at least [seven] years ago! ... And yes he is rocking my [Cynthia Bailey Eyewear] aviators.”
Cynthia says starting an eyewear line “just made sense”
The brand was prominently featured on RHOA Season 8, when the ’Wives filmed a Cynthia Bailey Eyewear commercial during their Jamaican getaway. Before the season, Cynthia spoke to BravoTV.com about her passion for sunglasses and why she decided to get in the accessories game.
“It’s a fun way for anyone to have fun with fashion, to complement their face or their wardrobe,” she said about the eyewear brand. “I get a lot of feedback from the fans [who ask] ‘Where did you get your glasses?’ I decided I would partner with Eye Candy Creations and Menizzi eyewear in Italy. It just made sense.”
More than a year later, Cynthia shared additional details on the then-burgeoning accessories line and her plans to expand it.
“I have hats and watches and all kinds of great things coming,” she said. “I wanted to do something in the fashion lane, and I felt like accessories were a great fit. I’m all about personal style and how you put it together, and I think the way you accessorize is important. The right or wrong accessory can make or break an outfit.”
