Kandi Burruss Just Had a Major Realization About Body Image and Being "Snatched"
The RHOA cast member opened up about something she's discovered is "not necessarily true" anymore.
Kandi Burruss just had a pretty fantastic realization on the topic of body image, and she’s sharing it with all of her Instagram followers. In a March 13 video, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member dropped some words of wisdom about the way she’ll be approaching her own personal goals from here on out.
“Hello people. So, I was sitting here talking to my friend, Tae TV, and we [were] getting us a good laugh today ‘cause I was saying, we'd be talking about ‘oh, I want to get my titties lift[ed] up, oh I want my waist to be smaller, oh I want my thighs to be smaller, oh, what I gotta do? Because I need to get snatched! I need my body snatched.’ So every time we get together, we have this conversation,” Kandi explained. “Then she starts talking about somebody that we’ve seen like, ‘oh, her body’s banging’ and she was saying the girl was ‘goals’ and ‘she should be snatched up by now,’ meaning wifed up, you know—married, whatever. She should be snatched up by now! I can’t believe she ain’t snatched up!’”
In that moment of talking about somebody else, Kandi had a major shift in perspective.
“I looked at Tae and I said, ‘Well bitch, you got snatched up and you wasn’t even snatched!’ She got snatched up! And she wasn’t even snatched when she did it. Same for me! I was not snatched. I was not at my snatchedest weight, or my snatchedest body size when I got snatched up,” she continued. “So the point of this conversation is ladies, we’ve got to stop thinking that we have to be snatched to get snatched up. Because there’s a lot of single snatched bitches running around here. I’m just saying. And we be feeling like we’ve got to be that, and it’s not necessarily true!”
Although Kandi’s operating with a new frame of mind, she went on to explain that she hasn’t changed her end goal, simply her reasoning behind setting those goals in the first place.
“Don’t get me wrong. I still want to be snatched. I still want to be snatched for me. But you ain’t got to do it to get snatched up. You don’t have to be snatched to get attached,” she said. “So that’s our word for the day. You don’t have to be snatched to get attached. Now if you want to get snatched for you, that is quite alright, since we all want to do it. That’s okay and that is fine. It’s all enjoyable to look at it. Do it for yourself. Don’t do it for nobody else.”
