Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Her Recent 20-Pound Weight Gain
The Real Housewives of Atlanta singer shared her fitness goals after revealing she's gained 20 pounds in the last few months.
Kandi Burruss has an indoor pool and a tricked-out home gym at her Atlanta estate. But during quarantine, working out wasn't always at the top of the singer's to-do list. (We can relate — big time.) And after a little break from her regular fitness routine, Kandi has a new plan for staying in shape.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta mother hashed it all out in her recent Instagram Stories. Standing in the kitchen of her Atlanta home, Kandi shared, "This is my first day back to working out. I've gained 20 pounds since May. At the beginning of COVID I was working out and I was in shape, and even then I wanted to lose 10 pounds. But I ended up getting lax and comfortable, and I ended up gaining 20. So that means I have 30 pounds of which I really would like to lose. And I just want to better myself overall. I just want to get used to making working out a part of my regular routine," she shared.
Toward that end, Kandi enlisted the help of a particularly buff family member. "My cousin Patrick has volunteered to start working me out — working out with me. He's a trainer... he got up and came to my house at 7 a.m. for us to work out, and that's going to be our regular time," she said. "I hope that I can stick to this!"
