Kandi Burruss Had a “Serious Wardrobe Malfunction” Right Before WWHL: Details
The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member was “looking all cute” before experiencing an unfortunate fashion mishap.
In the above video, we rounded up Kandi Burruss’ reunion looks through the years, from her beginning on The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Season 2 to the present. That includes her black dress from the Season 6 reunion, which had sheer sleeves with sparkly embellishments. While the dress was memorable, Kandi revealed at the time that it wasn’t her first choice.
“We originally had a Versace dress picked, but right when it was time for me to walk to set, my zipper broke. It delayed taping and everybody was like, ‘Where is Kandi!?’” Kandi shared with BravoTV.com in 2014 following the reunion. “Of course, it looked like ‘Kandi is late again,’ but it wasn’t even my fault this time. We decided to use my second dress option, but I’m glad we did because I got lots of compliments on the second dress.”
More recently, Kandi ran into the same zipper issue, this time for the July 23 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Kandi Burruss’ WWHL Wardrobe Malfunction
“I had a serious wardrobe malfunction right before I was about to walk on to set at [WWHL]. Thank God that I had a backup!” Kandi captioned a July 23 Instagram video in which she explained exactly what happened before she stopped by the Clubhouse.
“So… coming to Watch What Happens Live, I just so happened to pack a backup dress in case something happened to my first dress — well, jumper, I had a jumper,” she began the clip. “I was looking all cute, I had it on, and the zipper busts, OK? And then the zipper was stuck, so I had to cut it off of the jumper! Thank god that I brought my backup. Amen!”
Luckily, Kandi’s “backup” burnt orange minidress was still utterly fabulous, with a corset-like piece around her midriff and crisscross straps that gave the top of the sheath a cutout effect. Kandi paired her sexy style with bronze-colored strappy heels and a half-up hairstyle with voluminous curls.

In addition to her WWHL style, Kandi has been impressing us lately with her RHOA confessional looks, recently stunning in a baby pink latex halter dress with matching long pointed nails.
The Atlanta mom coordinated her glam with her outfit, wearing light pink on her lids and a glowing blue tint on her lower lash lines. Kandi also kept things playful with her hairstyle, crafting a bun-like updo with thick, twisted braids and adding a silver chain that hung down the side of her head.
