Marlo Shares the Incredible Way Her Nephews Supported Atlanta Voters
The RHOA pal's nephews wanted to "keep people motivated to stay and vote."
Although Marlo Hampton's nephews, Michael, 12, and William, 11, aren't old enough to vote yet themselves, they wanted to ensure that anyone who was able to do so in Georgia's primary on Tuesday, June 9, had a bit of extra encouragement.
"Atlanta I know we had a hard time at the polls on Tuesday, but we made it," The Real Housewives of Atlanta pal, who is currently raising her nephews, captioned a series of Instagram videos posted on June 11. "The boys wanted to give out chips and water to keep people motivated to stay and vote."
As reported by NBC News, voters across Georgia's majority minority counties were plagued with hours-long wait times, a lack of available ballots, and issues with voting machines.
While Michael and William ensured people waiting in line were fed with what appeared to be a variety of snack options, Marlo handed out face masks to anyone in need of one, an offer several people happily took her up on.
Marlo had previously shared multiple photos from the day at the polls with her nephews, writing: "We voted together today because Black Lives Matter."
William and Michael recently joined Marlo and several Bravo cast members in a powerful PSA in support of Black Lives Matter.
"Becoming a full-time parent to two young black boys has given me a new outlook on life. I realize now more than ever that I need to use my voice to take action against the repeated acts of racism and violence on African American men and women. Black lives matter and it is my duty to work to improve human rights so that my boys and our children can live in a better world," Marlo said in a statement to The Daily Dish. “It was important for me to reach out and involve my sisters at Bravo, we text and DM about gossip and fashion all the time, but this was about unifying our voices for a cause that is bigger than us!”
