Yes, Even Erika Girardi Wears Sweatpants and T-Shirts
The #RHOBH glamazon shares her fave bargain shopping destinations.
If there's one thing we've learned about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newbie Erika Girardi this season, it's that she always looks on point. The singer has a whole lookbook and a glam squad, after all.
But believe it or not, Erika doesn't always dress to impress. The 'Wife confessed that she only looks so put together all the time because her life is now being documented on TV. "If we were at home right now I'd be in sweats and a T-shirt with my hair up and no makeup. I believe it's important to relax and let all of that go," Erika recently told Glamour. "You can't be totally identified by that 100 percent of the time. I still go through Starbucks every morning with no makeup, looking crazy, and they know who I am. And they're like, 'We watch the show!' and I'm like, 'OK, cool!'"
In fact, Erika would prefer to be comfy-cozy all the time. "I always say I'm going to be buried in black leggings," she said. "I've worn them so many times they're thin in places. I wear leggings every day of my life."
One of her favorite pairs is from Kiki de Montparnasse, and she also loves to shop at Zara to get her leggings fix. "They have this panel that sucks you in," she said.
That's right. Even Erika loves a bargain. She also heads to Target for chenille socks and sweatpants and Forever 21 for her rehearsal wear.
But your eyes aren't deceiving you while you watch RHOBH. Erika constantly rocks the designer looks too, from Alexander McQueen to Versace.
Erika gets her glam on at the RHOBH Season 6 premiere party at W Hollywood on December 3, 2015.
Even though she's used to dressing for the spotlight since performing as her musical alter ego Erika Jayne for years, Erika found it challenging to decide what to wear on RHOBH. "I had to dress appropriately for the situation [we were filming]. I couldn't be decked out if we were going to build homes," she said, referring to the episode in which the cast helped out with Habitat for Humanity. "I'll tell you what's not camera-friendly. Something that makes your bust not shapely. Too much fabric can give you a matronly look. It needs architecture even if it's just a T-shirt."
But, with the exception of some jeans and shoes, you haven't seen Erika repeat an outfit on RHOBH this season — and you won't. "We photographed every outfit so we never repeated it. Just for the show though, not in real life—I don't have that much money," she laughed.
