Gigi and Bella Hadid Are Fierce in First Cover Together
The supermodel sisters slay for 'V' magazine, discussing career goals and their non-catty crew.
Yolanda Foster's daughters Gigi and Bella Hadid are supermodels in their own right. For the past year they've scaled catwalks, rocked red carpets, and covered magazines independently of each other…until now.
The daughters of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently joined forces for the first time on the cover of V magazine, and let’s just say, it was worth the wait.
Leaning against a green car, the two project smoldering looks towards famed photographer, Steven Klein. The bondage-style shoot has the ladies rocking sexy thigh-highs, bikinis, and fur coats.
Legendary model China Machado sat down with the sisters to talk about their career goals and how they feel the industry has evolved since their mom's day.
”I have three goals: be kind, work hard, and make a friend,” Gigi shares. “When I do those little things on set every day, those are the things that then lead to creating relationships and building opportunities. Because you don’t know who those people are gonna go have dinner with and talk to that night.”
As for who Gigi’s been talking to at those dinners? A pretty impressive squad that includes Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, and several supermodel colleagues. It’s a non-dramatic group of girls that Gigi is very greatful for. “There are some people who are mean at times, but I think generally we are in a generation of models where it’s becoming normal to support each other, and I think it’s really different,” she explains. “We’re lucky to be in that generation of girls where we’re really pushing for girl power and supporting each other and being friends with everyone. And I think it’s becoming less cool to be like the catty models that we’ve all heard the stories about.”
Her pal Taylor is an inspiration, leading the push for more niceness and support among young women. "There are a lot of different girls in the industry, including Taylor Swift—I just did her music video. She put something like twenty successful women in the industry in her video. I felt so lucky to do that because I felt like it was really a sign of our collective willingness to support each other and have each other’s backs and kind of hold hands along the way.”
Bella couldn’t agree more. “No matter if they’re working next to you, below you, or above you, be kind and generous to everyone you meet,” she shares. We bet Yolanda is feeling like a #ProudMommy right about now.
The issue hit stands July 2.
