This Is Why Erika Girardi's Pretty Mess Krewe Is So Tight
Get the scoop from the right-hand man on this #RHOBH performer's squad.
Have you ever wanted to party with Bravolebs? Well our digital series, Bravo After Hours, offers viewers the opportunity to paint the town red with some of our very own as well as host and Everybody Curses, I Swear! author Carrie Keagan. So get ready to unleash your inner pop persona because she's painting the town hot pink with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills pop star Erika Girardi and find out what it really means to be Erika Jayne.
It turns out that in addition to Erika Jayne, Erika Girardi has another persona lurking underneath all that gorgeous hair and couture. You see, her close-knit team of dancers, stylists, and inner circle (aka the Pretty Mess Krewe) has given her the nickname "Moms" — and as she shares in Bravo After Hours, she's more than cool with that title.
"Of course I'm OK with that — I am a mom. It's fine," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills singer said.
To learn more about the Pretty Mess Krewe, we spoke to Erika's creative director, Mikey Minden, to get the low-down on the bunch, which he says is "compiled of hair and makeup and dancers and stylists. And it's like a conglomerate of highly creative individuals, artists really."
Erika coined the phrase "pretty mess" (in fact, she even sang about it), and Mikey explained what the term means to him. "To be a pretty mess, I think it's an energy. It's a vibe. It's confident. It's sexuality. It's creativity. It's fantasy. It's fun," he said. "And it's family."
That last aspect is definitely something the Krewe takes seriously.
"It really is a family, and that's why we call ourselves #prettymesskrewe. Because we do our job, everyone comes to work and shows up and is responsible and is there to do what they're hired to do, but at the same time you spend so much time with this crew of people, and it becomes a family. And you travel the world, you travel the states, you're on airplanes, hotels, houses together. You get ready together. And you create memories together and this work family sometimes becomes even closer than your bloodline family because you're sharing your passion with these people. And everyone is of the same like mind, so it's like an artistic family."
So, if Erika is "Moms," does that make Mikey the group's surrogate father? "You could call me the daddy of the crew for sure," he said. "I wouldn't use the word father. I would say daddy — me and Erika definitely are at the helm running the ship."
You can catch more from Erika when RHOBH returns December 6 at 9/8c. In the meantime, check out her private plane.
