So That's Why Gigi Hadid Wore Collagen Gloves Backstage at NYFW
These futuristic tropes may be the key to a perfect mani.
If you happened to catch a close up of Gigi Hadid’s hands at the Prabal Gurung NYFW show, you might have noticed just how fab they looked. We’re not just talking about that gorgeous, inky blue nail polish she was wearing, either (that’d be Red Carpet Manicure’s Midnight Blue, in case you were wondering). Mei Kawarjiri, the key nail artist backstage, also prepped Gigi’s nails with Voesh New York’s collagen-infused gloves.
They may look a little funky, but these things are a nail artist’s dream, especially at NYFW where you don’t have access to running water, and especially when you’re working with a model who’s probably had nail polish applied and removed twice a day for an entire week. Hello, gnarly, overworked cuticles.
The collagen gloves require zero water, and quickly soften and nourish cuticles and skin. Think of it as an insta-mani in sheet mask form. Your manicurist applies it like a regular glove, then gently massages the tip of each nail to help the collagen and oils penetrate the skin. Afterward, the tips of each finger are peeled back so your manicurist can paint your nails—and so you send off that urgent text message—while the gloves continue to moisturize your hands. The product also comes in sock form to sate all your pedi needs.
Currently, the collagen gloves and socks are only available for pros, but you can get the same collagen glove experience as Gigi by scheduling an appointment.
