Will Gigi Hadid Help Ease Tension With The Middle East?
Tommy Hilfiger suggests she will.
It's no secret that Tommy Hilfiger is a dyed-in-the-wool Gigi Hadid fan. Not only has he cast her in several of his shows—he's also tapped the model to design entire collections for him. (And boy, did those go over well.)
Now, Tommy is suggesting that Gigi is capable of many other things. Things like...easing tension with the Middle East. That's a pretty major claim, we know, we know—so let's back it up a little bit.
ICYMI, Gigi recently appeared on the cover of the debut issue of Vogue Arabia. The knockout was humbled by the honor, and knew that it signaled a pretty major moment in international relations.
When sharing an image of the sultry, mysterious cover shot, Gigi wrote: "Being half-Palestinian, it means the world to me to be on the first-ever cover(s) of @voguearabia, and I hope that this magazine will show another layer of the fashion industry's desire to continue to accept, celebrate, and incorporate all people & customs and make everyone feel like they have fashion images and moments they can relate to."
When asked about the big cover, Tommy told TMZ: "It's incredible. I think it may melt relations or increase the love between the Middle East and America," he said. "And Gigi is the conduit." Well, that would be a swell thing for Gigi to add to her resume!
