Erika Girardi Has Strong Feelings About This Meghan Markle-Loved Trend
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills performer explained that there's one trend she would never, ever wear — and it happens to be a particular favorite of Meghan Markle's.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills singer Erika Girardi and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle each have their own fabulous, fully-realized sense of style — and both their designer wardrobes reportedly have major pricetags. But as you can imagine, that's where the similarities end when it come to Markle and Erika swapping clothes.
Page Six recently caught up with Erika to chat about all the costumes for her “Pretty Mess” tour as leather-clad pop star Erika Jayne. As someone who loves experimenting with fashion and trying different trends, Erika explained that there's one trend she would never, ever wear — and it happens to be a particular favorite of Markle's. That would be a boatneck silhoutte, which Vogue said Markle has become synonymous with — even before she chose it for her Givenchy wedding dress.
“I like a neckline to be either high or low; the middle just doesn’t work for me,” Girardi told Page Six about why she's not into a bateau neckline. “You can do off-the-shoulder, but it’s that middle ground that doesn’t look good on me. I just feel like maybe the neck got stretched out or something.”
It is hard to imagine Erika rocking such a conservative look, and in fact, some editors at Vogue agreed with Erika on the surprisingly controversial boatneck. So she'll leave the bateau neckline dresses to Markle, and instead embrace a trend that we can't really see the minimalist royal in either: “I’m from the ’80s, I f—king love bike shorts,” Erika said.
