Do NOT Try Kyle Richards' Fashion Hack at Home
In this case, we're talking about a literal hack.
It's not unusual to gasp aloud while watching an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Just last week there were audible gasps when Lisa Rinna asked Dorit Kemsley if she was doing coke in her bathroom. This week, however, the surprising moment wasn't drama-related—it was fashion-related.
Kyle Richards found herself in a fashion emergency when she realized she didn't have anything to wear that passed Lisa Vanderpump's strangely specific dress code ("pink, sparkles, wedge heels") for her Diamonds and Rosé party. In a rush, she grabbed a blush, lacy pink jumpusit off the mannequin in her store, Kyle By Alene Too, and took it home. Unfortunately—and as fellow short women can empathize—the outfit was too long and needed hemming. What came next, though, was truly horrifying.
Instead of calling in a seamstress or looking for another outfit option, Kyle grabbed a pair of scissors and started hacking away at the lace. Mind you, there was no measuring tape being used during this alteration. She seemed to just be eyeballing it, which means one pant leg repeatedly ended up shorter than the other.
Ladies, we can not stress this enough: Do NOT try this at home. If you find yourself in a bind, use pins to hike up your pants and take them in later to be professionally altered.
Ready for another distressing detail? Similar jumpsuits found on her store's site range from $300 to $700, which means the one she was cutting away at was probably on the higher side of that price range.
