Kyle Richards: We Cannot Ignore a Friend Being Disingenuous
Kyle clears up some misconceptions about the drama on RHOBH.
Well, the time has come for Sophia to leave home. I have been dreading this day for months. Our girls are always with us. We do everything together. The thought of not having Sophia with us hurts. A lot. I was also worried about Portia. She’s extremely close to Sophia. The two are inseparable, which I know is rare for their age difference. Sophia thinks she is Portia’s second mom and has always been my biggest helper with Portia. She has changed her diapers, fed her, bathed her, and taught her manners like a second mommy. This will be rough. And if that isn’t hard enough, watching her say goodbye to our dogs hurts my heart.
Alexia…transitioning to the real world has been a bit of an adjustment. To be fair, it’s the end of summer at this point, but by the time we return from D.C, it will be time to start her first job at The Agency. Seems to be all our girls want to be in the family business: real estate. Sophia will be studying business and real estate at George Washington University. I am so proud! It is the only thing getting me through this time. I’m so happy for her.
Denise is getting married!! So exciting! She deserves it. Can’t wait to see how they pull this off so quickly. I laughed out loud at the numerology conversation. I was as lost as Denise was at first. But hey, we all have our things and whatever works. I think the fact that he wanted “8” for infinity is romantic. Even if I did take a minute to wrap my head around it.
PK and Dorit have a conversation about Lisa V. I know PK cares about Lisa V, so it was interesting to hear his take on all of this. I know he wanted everything to be worked out with Lisa and Dorit. I also know that he is a big softie and was genuinely hurt that he never heard from Lisa on his birthday. It seems to me they both care about Lisa and want this resolved.
Teddi goes to Erika’s and has a conversation about everything going on. I knew Teddi had some part in all of this, because she told me everything after that day at Vanderpump Dogs. She also showed me ALL of the texts in her phone between her and John Blizzard.
John said Lisa V wanted Teddi to have this info. Teddi thought it was weird but considering the story she was told about Dorit and the dog, she went along with it. Teddi and Dorit were not in a good place, and nobody wants to hear about any animal not treated with anything less than compassion. The story we later heard was very different from the one we were originally told by the Vanderpump Dog’s team. Which may explain why we were less upset later than we originally were. Remember, that day at Vanderpump Dogs, I was initially confused as to why Lisa V was not upset with Dorit about the dog. It seemed this information was given to Teddi and then me with the hopes of going after Dorit. Just to be very clear... I am an avid animal lover. Like many of you. No, I don’t have a dog rescue center, but that doesn’t make me any less of an animal lover. When first hearing about this story, I was very upset. Why didn’t Dorit just give the dog back to Vanderpump Dogs? How did it end up at this shelter? ( We found out later it was NOT a kill shelter.) Who was the person Dorit gave the dog to? I had all of the same questions you have been asking yourselves. Times have changed. When I was growing up, if a dog bit a child or was destroying your house and couldn’t be trained, they were given away. Plain and simple. People think differently now. These animals are our children. Good or bad, we are their family. My dogs are my children. Otherwise, I may have given Storm away long ago! She’s eaten every cushion, pillow, baseboard, tree, plant in my entire house! But I love her no matter what. However, I don’t have toddlers that I have to worry about getting in a dog’s face. There is a reason most animal rescue centers don’t allow people with toddlers to adopt dogs.
It then became about, “Why would Lisa want to do this to a friend?” Why would she want a twisted version of what really happened out there to hurt someone she cares about? It didn’t sit well with me because it’s been a pattern with Lisa. I, too, have been on the receiving end of Lisa with an agenda. Like I said in the Bahamas, I care about Lisa but also know how she operates. This does not mean that I don’t care about Lucy. We all knew Lucy was fine since we all saw her at Vanderpump Dogs in the very beginning. Should things have been handled differently? 100%. On everyone's part.
Ken and Lisa meet up in their backyard… Ken shows Lisa texts messages between Teddi and John Blizzard that Lisa supposedly hasn’t seen before (if you believe this then I have some stocks to unload on you too). Lisa doesn’t talk to John Blizzard because he’s “22 years old.” He is also in charge of all her Vanderpump Dog events. Makes no sense. But let's roll with this. So Ken reached out to John Blizzard without Lisa knowing so he could get the texts between Teddi and John. Not all of the pages of course.
When John Blizzard arrives, Ken “scolds” him. Then Lisa talks to him, reiterating, “You’re much closer to Teddi.” John Blizard says, “I put words in your mouth that I shouldn’t have.” What would John B have to gain by saying that to Teddi? ZERO. He is clearly doing what his boss has told him to say. Which is understandable I suppose. He doesn’t want to lose his job. At the end of the day, the dog’s safety is all that matters. We all get that. But we also cannot ignore a friend being disingenuous and going out of their way to hurt someone that they supposedly love. And for what reason?
We finally get Sophia set up in her dorm and have to say our goodbyes. I had been crying all morning that day as you can see from my face. Seeing my husband cry kills me. He loves our girls so much and knowing he is hurting too makes it that more difficult. I wanted to be that strong mom who dropped her daughter off and said a swift goodbye. Nope. Not an option. We all sobbed all the way to the airport. I’m sorry, Sophia. But we love you too much.
Back in L.A., Lisa V invites Dorit and me over to her house. We thought to clear the air. When we get there Lisa has printed out the texts between Teddi and John Blizzard. What she doesn’t include are the parts of the text that implicate Lisa.
I knew exactly what was in that conversation and was waiting for her to show it in its entirety. That didn’t happen.
When I asked Lisa how she knew about Teddi knowing about the dog and why she texted Dorit, “Teddi knows,” Lisa also couldn’t answer the question.
I want to address some things I see “out there” ( on Twitter etc). Just to be clear to those of you who have said I have "attacked Lisa,” I have not even had an argument with Lisa at this point. We had a nice lunch in the Bahamas and at dinner, in the Bahamas, I tried to get her to stay. We flew home together. We continued to make plans together.
Another misconception is that nobody cares about the dog and only "what Lisa did to Dorit.” We ALL care about what happened to the dog. Not only do we know the dog was safe but the final version of what happened to Lucy put all our minds at ease as to how it was handled. Which also explained why Lisa was not upset with Dorit as she claimed.
Thank you for watching.
XO,
