Top Chef's Brian Malarkey Cooked an Incredible Meal for the Beverly Hills Housewives
The RHOBH cast members had strong feelings about the Top Chef alum's cooking.
As she has shown time and time again on this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, when Kathy Hilton hosts, she always opts for the best of the best (case in point: those $950 Baccarat candlesticks). So when the RHOBH newcomer invited Garcelle Beauvais, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, and Sutton Stracke on a quick vacation, she ensured the last night of their trip would be beyond memorable.
"I'm really psyched for this boat trip," Kathy said in an interview prior to the excursion. "I've hired Chef Brian Malarkey, who's a celebrity chef, who is supposed to be incredible."
Of course, the Bravo's Top Chef alum's cooking did not disappoint. After he brought out "amazing bluefin tuna, caught locally," crispy rice with a kimchi vinaigrette, and duck and fig, Lisa declared, "This is some of the best food we've ever had." Garcelle agreed, exclaiming, "Absolutely!" Brian, who was wearing a face mask, responded, "I'm smiling under here."
In August 2020, Brian, whose restaurants include Herb & Sea, Herb & Wood, Herb & Ranch, and Anime, opened up to BravoTV.com about the "day-to-day battle" of running eateries amid the COVID-19 pandemic. "Our industry has completely changed," he said, noting that teaching virtual cooking classes had been "a great opportunity that we wouldn't have thought of before."
"That might be the best thing that’s come out of this all for me," he continued. "I think it’s something we’re going to have for a long time and something that’s going to stick."
