Erika Girardi's Quarantine with Husband Tom in Pasadena Is a “Complete 180 of Life”
The RHOBH performer says she’s “a little lost” amid her return to life at home after stint on Broadway.
In the blink of an eye, Erika Girardi went from performing nightly in “Chicago” on Broadway and living in New York City to having long days of watching “Tiger King” while self-quarantining in her sprawling Pasadena, California mansion. “I was expecting a break after ‘Chicago,’ but certainly not something like this where it’s like everything is ground to a halt,” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills performer revealed in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “I’m at home. Tom and I spend a lot more time together. He’s obviously on the phone running the firm and doing things. It’s definitely different — scheduling when to go grocery shopping. It’s just a complete 180 of life.”
The shift of going from singing and dancing in front of a live audience nightly to being back at home had Erika admitting she’s struggling with the transition, sometimes waking up at 4 a.m. with anxiety. “I know that everyone says you should be using this free time to be creative and yeah that’s great — and I get behind all of that, but at the same time I’m a little lost,” she said. “As I sit here, I can see many things that I should be doing, but I don’t. Did I start ‘Tiger King’ like the rest of America? Sure. Have I finished it? No.”
As for whether Erika is honing her culinary skills in quarantine, um, that’s a resounding no! “I’m never going to be a gourmet cook,” Erika said. “Nobody’s ever going to marry me for my cooking skills.” That said, she has been spending some time in the kitchen, making homemade chicken soup, penne Bolognese, and other “easy things” like turkey sandwiches.
Here’s hoping when this pandemic passes, Erika is back on The Great White Way where she belongs!
