Here’s Why Erika Jayne Is the Only Beverly Hills Housewife Who Doesn’t Own a Birkin

Beverly Hills and Birkins — two things that go together like America and apple pie, chocolate and peanut butter, Kyle Richards and the splits. 

As The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ladies have exhibited over the past 12 seasons, they’re not afraid to show their love for the classic Hermès bag, which was a collaboration between iconic French singer and actress Jane Birkin and Hermès CEO Jean-Louis Dumas in the ’80s.  

During Part 2 of the Season 12 reunion, host Andy Cohen asked who was a proud owner of the stylish accessory, and only one Housewife didn’t raise her hand: Erika Jayne. 

“I had a Kelly… it’s not my thing, it’s not my bag,” the Pretty Mess author revealed on the October 19 episode. 

Though Erika may not be a fan, Andy went on to ask Garcelle Beauvais how she felt about recently becoming a Birkin owner after she was inspired by her castmates to “get the bag” during her “Bubbles and Birkins” party this past season. 

“It’s really cool. It’s still a little uncomfortable for me,” Garcelle said. “I left it on my dining room table for two days because I thought, ‘If I take it to my closet, then that means I really own it.’” 

The Coming to America actress then revealed that she paid around $13,000 for the vintage Birkin 35 Jaune D’Or bag — a price Sutton Stracke was hesitant about, but Kyle thought was a solid deal. 

“I thought it was a good price [for the bag],” Kyle stated, assuring her castmate that she made the right choice.
