Like all of us, Kyle Richards is finding a way to bring a little normalcy to her life amid self-quarantine, and that means figuring out a way to keep her luscious brown locks in tip top shape. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom shared on a recent series of Instagram Stories a few of her at-home beauty secrets, one of which includes covering up her gray roots.
On March 22, Kyle said in her Stories that she planned to spend the day doing a little self-care courtesy of her trusty at-home hair dye kit. And while it may seem like Kyle is only turning to DIY hair dye because of the quarantine, it turns out that she is a seasoned pro because she's been tackling her gray hair since she was as young as 25 years old.
"Very exciting activity of the day," she explains in the video. "I am going to color my roots. I have some gray roots. I inherited getting gray hair early, my dad was completely gray by the time he was 40. I started getting gray hairs when I was 25... probably because I worry so much."
Who knew? To maintain her gorgeous brunette hue, Kyle uses Clairol Root Touch-Up Hair Color Creme ($13) that she applies directly to her roots. Then she proceeded to give herself a salon-quality blow-out using a round brush.
Though we are thoroughly impressed by Kyle's skills with a little dye and a hair dryer, it sounds like husband Mauricio will never know her hidden talent.
"I do not like my husband to see me when I do it," she confesses, "because it is not a good look. So I lock him out and hide." Guess we'll have to wait until The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premieres on Wednesday, April 15 at 9/8c to see how it compares to her usual stunning shade.
