Kyle Shares How Her Feelings About Her Home Have Changed Since the Burglary
"It took a while to feel comfortable," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member said of settling in to her $8.25M house after it was burglarized in 2017.
On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills April 29 episode, Kyle Richards couldn't wait to go home after being away while hard at work on a movie set. However, the thought of returning to the Encino mansion didn't always excite her following a home burglary years ago.
"It took me a while to settle into this house," Kyle said in the episode. "It took a while to feel comfortable."
In 2017, the home was burglarized while Kyle and her family were away on vacation. After losing more than $1 million in personal items, Kyle was open about feeling conflicted about continuing to reside in the house. Ultimately, she decided the right move for her family was to stay.
It seems an extended period of working far away from the house allowed her to see it in a different light. "Being away for so long filming has really given me a much bigger appreciation for my home," she said. "Seeing my family here, my dogs waiting for me, I mean, Dorothy said it best: 'There's no place like home.'"
Kyle's homecoming was made even sweeter with balloons in front of the door, including one that read, "Welcome Home Kyle," from her family.
However, in true Kyle form, she wasted no time settling back in. Just moments after she arrived, she began discussing a dinner party she was throwing in her lavish dining room. For the incredible meal, she topped her expansive table with her butterfly dinnerware and multiple bouquets of colorful flowers. As seen in the episode, the room's more permanent fixtures, including a stunning brass chandelier and unique artwork, are equally eye-catching.
Unsurprisingly, Kyle loved the home from the moment she saw it. "It's an absolutely beautiful home," Kyle previously explained to BravoTV.com in the video above. "We are so happy to be there and to enjoy this gorgeous home. It doesn't feel like you're in Los Angeles, it feels like you're in a completely different part of the country."
