Kyle Richards Takes Us Behind the Scenes as She Preps a 200-Guest Gala in Her Backyard

It's nothing new for Kyle Richards to host a lavish bash in her backyard. (If you need an example, just refer back to her daughter Farrah's extravagant 30th birthday party — or her younger daughter Portia's glamping experience.) But The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills philanthropist recently took on planning duties for a party of a different sort. And on the evening before she hosted her first fundraiser, Kyle let BravoTV.com cameras take a peek at the final stages of her party prep at her home. 

Wearing a silky gold blouse, the Beverly Hills mom was prepared to walk through her backyard as event pros bustled through. "We've been setting up for three days now, making sure that we get everything right," she said.

As Kyle got ready to welcome 200 guests to her home, she shared, "I've thrown parties for a lot more people, but because it was my first time throwing an actual fundraiser with a live auction and a silent auction — I mean I have auctioneers and everything — and a performance, I really wanted to keep it sort of manageable." 

Manageable doesn't mean pared-down, mind you. In the video above, Kyle shows a scene already set with twinkling lights, chandeliers, and a glamorous checkered dance floor flanked with cushy lounge furniture. After all, Kyle would do anything for the kids. "I've been working with Children's Hospital for years now, and it's the charity that's nearest and dearest to my heart," she said.
