"I think I’m probably most excited to share my Chinese culture and background and traditions," she admitted at the time. "And, my husband’s Jewish, and so our kids are [Chinese and Jewish], and that’s equally important. They have such a beautiful culture that should also be shared in a bigger way. So, I’m excited for people to see what kind of a mixed family looks like.”

More recently, on Season 13, Episode 10 of RHOBH, which aired on January 3, fans got to see Crystal’s family embrace their Jewish faith during a Passover Seder at their Los Angeles home.

In honor of the holiday, Crystal prepared the traditional ritual feast of Karpas (parsley), Charoset (diced apples and nuts), Maror (leaf lettuce), Zeroa (lamb), and Beitzah (a hard-boiled egg). The mom of two also made some Matzoh ball soup, another Jewish delicacy traditionally eaten during Passover.

After all the dishes were ready, Crystal and her husband, Rob Minkoff, joined their son, Max, and daughter, Zoe, in the dining room, where they all discussed the “significance” of their dinner.

“Okay, you know what this is called, kids?” Rob asked, to which Max replied, “It’s called the Seder.”

Moments later, Crystal sweetly spoke about how she and Rob observe each other’s religion and family traditions, highlighting their similarities.

“Chinese culture and Jewish culture [are] very similar,” Crystal said in a confessional. “We prioritize family, getting together, traditions, holidays, and so our marriage that melded our cultures very easy. Our families were super into it, and we love to celebrate each other’s religions and culture."

Crystal Kung Minkoff on hosting dinner parties

On Season 13, Episode 9 of RHOBH, Crystal spoke more about her Chinese heritage and love of cooking when she invited her castmates to her home for a taco dinner.

“There’s nothing I love more than hosting dinner,” she stated during a confessional in the episode. “I always have too much food left over. That is a classic Asian culture thing. If the table is empty, that means your guest goes home hungry, and you’re a bad host.”

She concluded, “So you always want to have an abundant table full of food and lots of to-go boxes.”
