Teddi Responds to People Saying She Looks “Completely Different” Since Her RHOBH Debut

Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave has heard that people have made comments about her appearance — and she has answers! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum recently took to Instagram to explain why she looks (according to some) “completely different” from when she made her RHOBH debut in 2017. 

In the March 20 post, Teddi shared side-by-side images. The photo on the left showed her in her first interview as a Housewife; the one on the right showed a current selfie. “People’s fave thing to write to me unprompted is, ‘Teddi, you look like a completely different person than when you were first on Housewives,’” she wrote. 

“Let’s see— I’ve gotten older, I’ve had a neck lift and… become more annoying. I don’t understand why this is a go-to ‘insult’ especially when I feel like I still look like me. And I actually feel I’m a better me — a me who’s found her voice, her strength and a confidence not seen on the show.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, Kyle Richards, and Cynthia Bailey were among the thousands of followers who double-tapped on the heartfelt post. 

Teddi has opened up about her neck lift in the past. In 2022, she took to her Instagram Story to talk about her procedure. “There’s been one thing that’s consistently bothered me and it’s going to seem like nothing to you guys, but it’s the loose skin on my neck,” she said. “I’ve gone to multiple doctors to see if there are lasers or things like that to help me, and pretty much, there really isn’t anything.”

Teddi added that she had tried “the strings” and Botox and filler on her jaw, but “the way that [her] neck is… the only way to do it is just to kind of pull it up.”

“This doesn’t mean I don’t love the skin I’m in,” she said. “But this is something that has bothered me since I was a young girl.” She noted that it has been a “deep, dark insecurity.”

She shared a series of photos on her Story that showed her neck prior to the surgery. “I have always been comfortable with my neck in the front,” she wrote. “It’s the side profile that has always made me feel insecure.”

As for “getting older,” Teddi has always welcomed her birthday with open arms. Back in 2019, she turned 40 on a tropical beach vacation with a group of friends (including several Housewives). To usher in a new decade, she hit the beach, hosted a welcome dinner party with a mouthwatering menu, and topped off the festivities with a lavish floral cake.
