Brandi Redmond: Thank You, Next!
"I guarantee that’s the last time I make the mistake of opening up to her."
WE’RE IN COPENHAGEN! Thank you for joining us...
After a long plane ride, I was well rested and ready to explore this amazing city. It seems like we were offered a glass of wine around every corner, so I knew Copenhagen and I would get along just fine. I am not going to let anyone’s opinions bring me down on this trip. I am here to have a good time with my friends, and if anyone has an issue with that, it's their problem.
I was ready for a nice dinner out with the girls to celebrate our first night of the trip. These past few months, all I have seen for dinner have been Tyson chicken nuggets and whatever the Favor Delivery man will bring to my door. Newborn life has kept me strapped down, so putting on a dress was a promising change for an evening out...even if I couldn’t read the menu. I might have been missing my frozen chicken nuggets at that moment.
As the resident "alcoholic" in the group, I felt it was my duty to live up to this name that LeeAnne has so generously coined for me. If she thinks that I am an “alcoholic,” then I am going to give her every chance to say it to my face instead of running around town telling everyone but me. If she was really so concerned, wouldn’t she have stopped me at my fifth shot? I mean what kind of person lets an “alcoholic” sit there and take shot after shot? Probably someone that is just throwing around derogatory terms to tarnish someone else’s reputation. Let’s get this straight: I am allowed to enjoy a night out with my friends and can have a glass of wine whenever I please. I am not an “alcoholic,” nor am I a “drunk.” I am a devoted mother of three that likes to have some fun every now and then when I get to go out with my friends. Thank you, next!
Between playing referee that night and listening to all of the screaming, my hangover was at an all-time high the next morning. The only solution was to head over to the brewery and keep this fun train rolling. Jerry’s hole really hit the spot! Stephanie, I hope it was as good for you as it was for me.
Later that night, after the album release party, we all had a chance to sit down at the hotel, and I felt that this was my time to voice how I have been feeling about what LeeAnne has been saying about me. LeeAnne said that every time she has seen me, I have been drinking, but then she says that I am NOT an alcoholic. I shared something with the group that I have previously only shared with Stephanie about a time in my life where I was drinking a bottle of wine every night just to numb my pain through a rough patch in my marriage. I am not proud of that and hearing these rumors being spread around triggers those memories of that painful time. Clearly I wasted my time by opening up to her, because she then turns around and calls me a drunk in her confessional. Are you kidding me? I guarantee that’s the last time I make the mistake of opening up to her.
Tune in next week for part two of our Copenhagen trip where we really bare it all!
Love Y'all. B
