Kathy Leaves Her Comfort Zone

Kathy may have two left feet, but she was ready to Zumba for a good cause.

By Kathy Wakile

Hello Friends,

Hope you’re enjoying this last month of summer. The end of summer is always a favorite time for me, because it is like the last course of a delicious meal -- and August is the dessert of summer.

I’ve been so lucky to spend this summer with my family, and now it is good to get back to the beach and go to local Jersey restaurants and shops! Speaking of which, you have to check out Little Town New Jersey in Hoboken.

Thanks again for being supporters of our entire family, it means so much to us all!

On to the episode:

Jacqueline and Teresa have a very powerful connection; they were really close for over 10 years. That is a deep bond of friendship that I don't believe you can just turn on and off. It goes hand and hand with trust and takes time to build. So even when things are in a negative place, with love and forgiveness all is still possible.

Teresa & Jacqueline Make Up
Whether it be business, personal struggles, or even self-improvement, I was so glad that I could be there for Jacqueline before her plastic surgery, even though I think she is perfect just the way she is and didn't need it. However, that is a personal choice, and I was happy to support her decision and be a friend. Self-improvement is always a good thing as long as you don't compromise who you are, whether it’s physical or emotional.

With everyone's lives so busy handling different projects both business and personal, it's imperative to stay away from the drama and to sometimes take some time for yourself. I think that going to California was a smart decision for Jacqueline; it removed herself from the everyday “Mom” responsibilities and routine to focus on Jacqueline and healing properly.

Gia and Joe enjoying their “date” was so nice, it was fun to watch. I think all of our kids have really changed and watching them grow up is amazing: from babies, to toddlers, to tweens, to teens, to adulthood… I have to say now looking at my Victoria and Joseph, who are nearing the adult stage, I can’t believe how times flies!
Gia Knows What's Up
You all know my deep feelings for and support of brain tumor causes. Yet, if it wasn’t this, it would be something else. I believe that giving back is something that helps fulfill you as a person; that is, giving for the greater good, for others that are less fortunate. To be able to aid the poor, sick, or helpless and/or paying forward actually gives as much to the giver as it does to the receiver…a win, win if there ever was one.

I'm the first to admit that I have two left feet, however when it comes to raising awareness and raising money for important causes like the NephCure foundation, I'm ready to leave my comfort zone. I was fortunate to be able to attend Teresa's charity event and doubly fortunate to be able to contribute. I can only hope that it made a difference in peoples’ lives.
