Teresa Giudice: I Don’t Like to Hold on to Anger
Teresa addresses her talk with Melissa and shares why she called Jacqueline on New Year's Eve.
Hi Everyone!
As many of you know, Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love, love, love, love everything about it! So one of my favorite moments of this episode was when I was reunited with my family on Christmas Eve! I was so happy to see Joey and Melissa, my niece and nephews, and my parents, who mean so much to me. It felt soooo good to be back with my family again. I felt like I never left.
Dinner was delicious and it felt so good to be sitting around the table with my family. Everybody got a little nervous when me and Melissa went into the kitchen together to talk. They had no idea what was going to happen since we hadn’t seen each other for almost a year. I'm so glad we got to have that heart to heart, just the two of us, alone. I wanted to let her know that I came back with a different frame of mind –- that I just wanted peace in our lives and wanted to start everything off on a positive note.
I wanted her to know that I wasn't going to fight with her anymore. That if there were some kind of disagreement, that I would just walk away. I'm done with that. I also said that I'm not going to let anybody get between us anymore. That caused too many problems before, and I just won't allow it to happen again. That’s it.
I'm really happy that Melissa was receptive to what I said. She was in the same place as I was. Maybe she did a lot of thinking, too, while I was gone. Whatever the case, it's all good.
After our talk, what you saw is how we always were together -- like it was when I first met her. We used to get along so well. We just kind of picked up how we left off.
I'm happy for her, for me, for my parents and for my brother. Melissa knows that my brother loves me and wants the family to be together. So being back home with Joe, my daughters and my family was the best Christmas present ever!
As for New Year's Eve…I don't know why people made such a big deal about me calling Jacqueline that night. Dolores was over at my house for New Year's Eve and had to leave early because she was going to Jacqueline's. Dolores and I go way back and I wanted her to feel comfortable leaving my house and let her know I was fine with her going over there. So I thought, "Let me call Jacqueline and wish her Happy New Year." That was it. It was spur of the moment. I didn’t give it any more thought than that.
I was a little surprised that my call got the reaction it did. New year, new beginning, right? That's what I was thinking. That you should start the New Year off on a good note because that sets the tone for the year to come. Besides that, I hadn’t seen Jacqueline in more than a year and honestly forgot about a lot of the things that happened with us before I went away. I'm the type of person that forgives. I don’t like to hold on to anger. It eats you up alive. She and I go way back, too, so it just felt easy -- and right -- to call her and wish her Happy New Year. That's all it was.
And so the drama begins! And of course, there's more to come…so keep tuning in!
But watching this episode made me happy because I got to relive Christmas and New Year's with my family. I worried so much about my parents when I was away, so it was so good to see them happy and healthy and laughing so much. It felt like the holidays the way they used to be. Of course I love watching every moment with Joe and my daughters.
But I also laughed when Joe was so strict about Gia going out on New Year's Eve, because that's exactly how my father was with me! Me and Joey spent every New Year's Eve with our parents, even when we were married! But Joe and Gia compromised and she went out for a little bit and was back home –- on time –- to be with her family. Joe was happy…and so was I…
So thank you so much for watching and as always, for your love and support! I'm so happy to be back…I missed you all so much and hope you enjoyed this episode as much as I did.
I love, love, love, love you all!
