Frank Catania Opens Up About His 20 Pound Weight Loss After His Injury
Dolores Catania's ex-husband lost weight after a recent surgery prevented him from working out, but the pro bodybuilder has taken steps to gain it back.
After taking a nasty fall back in February, Dolores Catania's ex-husband Frank had surgery to repair his torn quads. In the immediate aftermath, the former pro bodybuilder wasn't able to work out — and he was staring down a new normal that was slated to last for some time.
Reflecting on that period of his life in a recent Instagram post, The Real Housewives of New Jersey ex wrote: " It was going to [be] my biggest challenge to rebound from this injury. The doctors told me it was going to be 8-12 months before i was back to normal and I had lost nearly 20 lbs from not training."
Ultimately, Frank was able to hit the gym again sooner than he'd been told. In his post, he went on to say: "Thanks to [Savior Sarms supplements] and my trainer [Nick Trigilli], it's only 5 months after surgery and I’m doing legs again. I have gained back 18 lbs of what I lost and still gaining."
Over on his feed, Frank's trainer Nick had to give his client props on his determination. " We can all take something from [Frank's] experience," Nick wrote. "If you go to [Frank's] page, he’s posted up videos of himself doing leg presses, squats and cardio! It gave me goosebumps when he put up this post for me." Scroll down to see Frank looking plenty strong as he does his thing at Gold's Gym in Teterboro:
Dolores has supported Frank throughout his recovery, and commiserated with him when he was unable to work out. Back in February, she'd told Page Six: "This will be the first time Frank is physically defeated. He’s going to lose his muscles for the first time in his life. Those huge, big legs. Those 20-inch arms. How is Frank mentally going to handle this? What defined him was his body and working out."
