Gia Giudice Got a Tattoo on Her Rib Cage in Honor of Dad Joe
Teresa Giudice's eldest daughter explains the touching message behind her new body ink.
Earlier this year, Joe Giudice debuted some new ink. Teresa Giudice's husband got an eagle tattoo on his chest in honor of his four daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana — and apparently Gia played a big role in his decision to get the tattoo.
"All right, Gia, I just want you to know, I'm doing this because of you," Joe shared in a video of his tattoo session on Instagram.
Soon after Joe revealed his tattoo, Gia teased that she had gotten one as well. Beneath Joe's video, Gia commented, "Hope you liked mine too." Now, we finally know what tattoo Gia was talking about.
On May 4, Gia posted a photo on Instagram of herself posing alongside two friends. In the snap, The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter sported a gray low-cut halter neck dress, which allowed a tiny peek at a tattoo on her rib cage. In the comments section of her post, an IG user asked, "Gia, do you have a tattoo on the side of your ribcage?" Gia replied, "Yes I do.. me and my dad got one together." She explained, "I have a little bird and he has the eagle on his chest. Just means we can fly to each other whenever we want and we are always a flight away." *Cue all the feels.*
Gia added that the tattoo "also resembles rising to heaven for my grandparents." Gia's maternal grandfather, Giacinto Gorga (lovingly referred to as Nonno), passed away in April 2020 and her maternal grandmother, Antonia Gorga, passed away in March 2017. Her paternal grandfather, Frank Giudice, passed in June 2014.
In addition to the tattoo, Gia recently found another way to always keep her dad with her. The stylish college student honored her dad with a sparkly clutch customized to read her name on the outside and "Daddy's girl" with a simple heart on the inside.
