Kathy Wakile Tackled a DIY Furniture Restoration Project & the Result Is Amazing
The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum is keeping busy during her self-quarantine at home.
Kathy Wakile is decidedly not sitting around during this period of self-quarantine. In between cooking up a storm and podcasting, The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum has been tackling a slew of DIY furniture restoration projects. “I’m keeping busy, I’m cooking but I’m trying not to eat too much, so I’m finding little projects around the house to keep my time busy and progress and ya know, just being creative,” Kathy said in a recent Instagram post, where she revealed she was restoring old desk that had been in her basement.
In addition to removing the hardware, sanding, and priming the desk, Kathy also painted the cherry wood piece, turning it into a lovely gray-and-white addition to her master bedroom. The result is truly fabulous — and now Kathy’s got a beautiful desk in front of a roaring fire in her bedroom. “I’m happy that I kept myself busy and was doing something positive with my time and productive with my time,” she said of the project.
Next up: Another piece to redo! “Checking in to send you all some Love & share my latest furniture restoration project! Swipe to see the before & after #diy #quarantime #quarantine #positivity #productivity #homeprojects #eatliveloveindulge,” Kathy captioned a series of Instagram videos and before-and-after photos of a chest that she refinished in the same vein as her desk.
“Now I have a little chest to keep all my paperwork hidden and now it matches my desk and um, it made me feel good to do something good,” Kathy shared in the post. “I even put makeup to check in on you guys today! Do something that makes you feel good until we can get back out into society and start living our lives as fully as possible!”
Thanks for the inspo, Kathy!
