Caroline Manzo Shares Her Honest Opinion on Zucchini Noodles
The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum shared her thoughts on the popular pasta substitute.
Let's face it: Zucchini noodles do not equal real noodles. And if anyone knows the rules of pasta, it's Caroline Manzo. The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Manzo'd with Children alum is an ace home cook, and loves whipping up classic Italian meals for her family. But would Caroline ever consider swapping zoodles for the real thing in the name of health?
The Jersey mom discussed the matter on The Doctor Oz Show today. Appearing in "Health Court," Caroline weighed in on the case of a mother-in-law who kept sneaking fatty, carb-rich foods into her daughter-in-law's house. This was in spite of her daughter-in-law's wishes, which was to keep her family healthy by using low-carb foods such as zucchini noodles instead of pasta.
The defendant insisted that the foods she brought over were just a gesture of love. And while Caroline conceded the point, she also pointed out that "health is love."
When Dr. Oz asked Caroline whether she'd be willing to sub zucchini noodles for pasta in an Italian dish, here's what the Jersey mama had to say: "Both of them are great. Different vibe, but fine. To me I'll eat both of these and be happy. I'll be healthier with [the zucchini noodles], which ultimately is going to make me happier and my kids because they have Mom around a little longer.”
