Everything We Know About Barbara Kavovit’s Female-Focused Tool Kits
The Real Housewives of New York City contractor is paving the way for women in a male-dominated industry.
When we met Barbara Kavovit on this season of The Real Housewives of New York City we immediately knew that she was the ultimate boss babe — not only does she own two construction companies, she’s also an author and the proprietor of the female-focused line of tools called DIYVA. Nationally distributed, the tool kits are also available online and come in a variety of cute colors.
Created for impromptu home repairs and quick fixes, Barabara’s 25-piece kits include an ergonomic hammer, a level, a wrench, pliers, a tape measure and more, all for $39.99.
“DIYVA gives the girl-on-the-go stylish and unique products to tackle basic home, first apartment or dorm room repairs and improvements,” Barbara says on her website, adding, “Just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to do - see it, believe it and you will achieve it!”
It’s that women-empowering-women mantra that we’re loving so much about the RHONY newbie! Being a female in a male-dominated industry is no joke, and the Bronx native is quick to point out that all women have to work that much harder to raise the glass ceiling.
“Today, when I walk onto a job site I still get the looks — whether it’s a guy whistling at me or someone who tests me, because they can’t imagine that I know what I should know about [the job],” she told People in 2017. “I believe that you have to be two, three, four times better, always, than your male counterpart in this industry.”
