Dorinda Medley: Bethenny's Suffering Breaks My Heart
"...but I know it is a process, and all I can do is let her know I'm here for her in any way."
Well, we're back! Isn't it nice to see the girls doing fall in New York City, out and about? New Yorkers are funny people. We kinda separate during the summer, running to our second homes, and then appear back in NYC after Labor Day fresh and ready to conquer the Big Apple.
I've spent the summer as usual in the beautiful Berkshires, working on myself physically, mentally, and emotionally, so I'm feeling super strong and in a very good place. Sometimes it's important to take time out to reflect and grow and understand what's best for you and stop worrying about things you can't change.
As everyone knows, Luke Henderson is not only my main man when it comes to hair and makeup, but he is also a dear and loyal friend. One of our favorite things to do is our daily walk in the park, one of the best places to be in NYC in the fall. We use the time not only to get a good workout in but to talk and work through stuff.
Sadly, the topic of the day surprisingly is my relationship with Lu. I say surprisingly because I was under the impression in the last six months that we were moving on and in a better place. We exchanged texts and quite frankly, I was feeling positive about putting the past in the past, but clearly, Luann didn't feel the same.
I was so sad to hear about Dennis. He was a good, incredible man and an important part of Bethenny's life. Her suffering breaks my heart but I know it is a process, and all I can do is let her know I'm here for her in any way. This happens after she and Dennis spearheaded the intervention (along with Sonja and Barbara) of Luann's journey back to rehab and basically saved her life in so many ways.
What do you think of Sonja moving to the Westside? I love her new apartment - it is fresh, cute, and manageable, and frees her up in so many ways. Sonja is in a really good place and moving out of the townhouse and freeing herself up to just enjoy life is wonderful to see. By the way, I love the idea of painting the place pink. It's fresh and fun, like Sonja right now. It is also inspiring me to make some more changes. Maybe I should move?
Only Ramona can take a simple swim lesson and turn it into a romantic date! It's strange after knowing Ramona all these years that I had no idea she couldn't swim. She's been hiding behind that noodle long enough, and if it takes a handsome swim instructor named Boris to get her motivated to learn to swim, then I think it’s great.
Happy to see Barbara has joined this crazy group. I've known Barbara for years, and I absolutely adore her. She is strong, fun, and independent. We have gotten much closer over the last year as she went through a terrible time in her relationship with Luann, and I was her sounding board to try to help repair it. Funny how the tables turn so quickly...
Well, we're off to the Hamptons for a fun weekend at the beach and a clambake at Barbara's house. Very excited!
