The Joys of Parenting
Kelly shares the process behind her Christmas card, why she won't PDA on TV, and her advice for Sonja.
Welcome Home! We all made it back to New York City without any major emotional scars. I promised myself I wouldn't let anyone feel as badly as I did that last trip, and regardless of how Alex interpreted her trip, I made sure she was protected. Not sure how we survived, but LuAnn had a lot to do with maintaining the respect for the trip. LuAnn was a rockstar host, left nothing to chance, and never let her feathers ruffle. Sometimes trying to get the women on the same page is like herding cats (love that line form one of my fans!!!). So kudos LuAnn.
What did all of you guys think of the soft porn? Did you like the scenes with Alex and Simon, and Ramona and Mario? And why did Simon's present to Alex come in messenger garment bag (that's how fashion PR folks send clothes back and forth to borrow for photo shoots) and not a paper bag with a label? I've never been a big fan of PDA, even when its filmed for television. I love holding hands with my cutie, whom I adore and giving a little nuzzle in the back of a taxi, but wearing lingerie on TV isn't my style. To each his own.
Wow. Sonja made some bad decisions. I've heard of people losing all their money to bad decisions, but I've just never actually met one. We all need to be understanding, for that's what friends do, and please send her advice or a good lawyer. This virtual family has to help the Housewives, too sometimes. If I were in that position, I'd ask Jill immediately. She has a solid head on her shoulders, isn't jealous, and has a bank full of amazing friends who give sound and solid advice. Not to mention, she herself is a self proclaimed MD, PHD, CPA, DDS, why not an ESQ (attorney)?
One of my favorite memories from this season is photographing the Christmas card of the girls. It's a great way of cataloging the growth of your children. Normally, I prefer cards only of the girls, but this year my art director, Teddy Bensimon, wanted the whole family in the picture. Her idea was fun, real, and charming. I love how children think, and I was so impressed to see how Teddy processed her idea and made it into a "real" image. Go Teddy for thinking out of the box. The picture was cute and so much fun to shoot. I'm so proud to be their mom.
