Bethenny Frankel Dishes on Skinnygirl's New Cocktail-Inspired Preserves
The Real Housewives of New York City alum's sugar-free preserves come in flavors like Apricot Mimosa and Blackberry Mule.
And to think, it all started with a low-calorie margarita. Since Bethenny Frankel founded Skinnygirl back in 2011, the brand has expanded from liquors to include popcorn, salad dressing, supplements, and even jeans. And now, The Real Housewives of New York City alum has added preserves to her brand's many offerings.
Chatting with BravoTV.com about the fruit-flavored spreads, Bethenny shared the inspiration behind her latest launch. "I love starting my day with a delicious breakfast that energizes me for the rest of my day," she spilled. "I found that so many preserves and jellies are loaded with sugar, so I saw an opportunity to bring my love of creating interesting flavor profiles with cocktails to a new eating occasion. It was also very important to me to create cocktail-inspired preserves that are fat and sugar free."
In flavors such as Strawberry Rosé and Blackberry Mule, the preserves pay homage to some of Bethenny's favorite cocktails. These days, the Skinnygirl founder likes to kick off her day with toast smeared in Apricot Mimosa spread. But she shared a sweet mixology tip, too.
"You can also use [the preserves] to add sweetness to cocktails by pairing the right preserve flavor with the right spirit," she said. "Skinnygirl Raspberry Bellini Preserve pairs well with vodka to make a refreshing summer cocktail with just the right amount of sweet flavor." Take it from the woman who's nailed inventive warm-weather drinks.
