Leah McSweeney Has an Epic Response to Ramona Singer Shading Her Bucket Hat
The Real Housewives of New York City newbie defended her polarizing accessory on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Leah McSweeney's Manhattan closet only contains wardrobe essentials that "spark joy" — and it's clear that her now infamous bucket hat is one of them.
The Real Housewives of New York City newbie has quickly joined the ranks of stylish Housewives like Dorit Kemsley (with her itty bitty pricey bag) who are capable of causing quite the stir with an unexpected fashion choice. The unconventional accessory in question was Leah's Hamptons-ready, sheer, black bucket hat that had her fellow cast members (and the internet) abuzz. Now, Leah is standing by her style with an epic response to the hat haters (cough, Ramona, cough) — and she's clapping back all the way to the bank.
On April 23, Leah joined Wendi McLendon-Covey on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home. During the socially-distanced episode, Leah played "Defend Your Bucket Hat" in which she was given 20 seconds to respond to all the hubbub about her trendy topper.
"First of all, I don't normally defend things I wear or things I do, but if I must, I will defend it right now," Leah said with some sass. "This hat sold out within a few hours of the episode airing."
Looks like Leah is learning the way of the Housewives quicker than we thought. It's true, the Ida Klamborn Bucket Hat in Black is completely sold out, but there's a silver lining to the black mesh debate. "Now me and the designer are working on some of our own hats together. So... I rest my case. That's my defense."
Case closed.
