Luann de Lesseps Has an Explanation for Her Backwards Chanel Letter Earrings
The Real Housewives of New York City cast member responded after people pointed out her "Nel-Cha" earrings.
In the July 13 episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, the ladies sat down to a dramatic dinner in Salem. After Ramona Singer's friend Bershawn Shaw suggested that the group might be a bit boring (gasp!) some heated words were exchanged. But one accessory in particular managed to stand out, even amid the tiff at the table.
For that night's dinner, Luann de Lesseps had chosen to wear the same Chanel letter earrings that so many Real Housewives adore. However, Luann wore her designer accessories with a slight twist: They were backwards.
Bravo fans caught onto the backwards bling shortly after the episode aired, leaving comments on Instagram about the instantly iconic "Nel-Cha" earrings. Even The Real Housewives of Potomac's Robyn Dixon weighed in, writing: "I was wondering if this was a camera issue and if not, WHY DIDN’T ANYONE TELL HER?!?!?"
Well, Luann herself had a chance to weigh in on that when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on July 27. "Luann, we need to discuss your Chanel earrings from a few weeks back, Andy said. "Or should we call them Nel-Cha earrings? Were they on backwards?"
It would appear that it was all in the cinematography. "I thought I had them on the right way, when you're looking at me in person, but I guess [the RHONY cameras caught] the flip-side? I don't know," Luann said, gamely smiling at the fun earring snafu. (Or should we say fu-snaf?)
