Sonja Morgan Defends Giving Leah McSweeney the Gray Sweatsuit
"She wears that kind of look I thought," The Real Housewives of New York City entrepreneur shared.
Leah McSweeney and Sonja Morgan may be on better terms since Sonja's fashion show, but fans are still not over the drama that stemmed from a Sonja by Sonja Morgan sweatsuit earlier this season on The Real Housewives of New York City.
It all started when Sonja sent all the 'Wives pieces from her line to wear to her fashion show. Leah felt Sonja was being "passive aggressive" by sending her a light gray sweatsuit to wear to the show while Dorinda Medley, Ramona Singer, and Tinsley Mortimer all received sexy, glittery dresses and jackets.
Ultimately, the ladies ended up hashing things out at the fashion show — and ending it with a laugh. However, the situation resurfaced during Sonja's July 9 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Reading a query submitted by a fan, Andy asked Sonja, "Why do you keep defending the fact that you gave Leah a sweatsuit for the fashion show instead of just apologizing?"
The fashion entrepreneur replied, "Uh, because I love that suit — it's amazing. I was doing a '70s look for her with the faux fur — it was Jackie Brown, you know, the faux fur jacket, the sparkle glasses." She added, "And she wears that kind of look I thought. So, I misread her."
