Dorinda Medley Shares 2 Brilliant Veggie-Prep Hacks That Will Revolutionize Your Cooking
The Real Housewives of New York City pal shared a pair of kitchen tips you never knew you needed.
No one knows how to “make it nice” like Dorinda Medley! The Real Housewives of New York City pal has taken to Instagram to share her cooking secrets in the past — remember her genius holiday leftovers recipe? — and now she's shared what we'd say are her most useful bits of kitchen intel yet.
Dorinda recently took to her Instagram stories to share with us how she stores and cooks her produce... and our minds are blown, TBH. “Here’s a fun fact: I always put my onion in the freezer for about 10 minutes before I chop it,” she says in a series of posts.
“This is because it holds onto the sulphur, and you always try to save as much of the root as possible when you’re cooking. I try to eat raw onion every day — it’s very healthy and very healing.”
She also gave us a peek into her freezer — can you spot the Halo Top ice cream and grass-fed beef in there? Talk about a balanced diet!
As well, Dorinda took us into her kitchen, where she shared a fun hack for broccoli. “I literally take a little bit of the bottom off, and then I shave it all around.” This way, she uses the whole veggie (sticking true to her no-waste policy) to create a delicious dish consisting of broccoli, garlic, sesame seeds, shaved almonds, lemon, sea salt, and pepper.
Just take a peek at the finished product: Doesn’t it look absolutely incredible?
Thanks Dorinda! We know just what we’re making for dinner tonight!
