Jill Zarin Makes Her Matzo Balls With a Very Secret Ingredient
The Real Housewives of New York City alum shared behind-the-scenes action from her Passover prep.
Jill Zarin is about to host the Passover feast to end all Passover feasts. We're talking latkes! Luxurious place settings! And, if you take Jill's word for it, we're also talking the fluffiest, best matzo balls in town.
In her recent Instagram Stories, The Real Housewives of New York City alum took followers behind the scenes of her holiday meal prep. Standing in her kitchen in casual threads, Jill shared: "Now I'm starting to put the matzo balls in its rolling boiling water. I have my secret ingredients in the matzo meal that make them so delicious and fluffy... This is maybe the best soup I've ever made." And yes, she let us all peek inside that boiling vat of broth. Steamy!
Next, the interior-design expert showed off a pan of potato cakes. "Here is grandma Helen's recipe for potato latkes with onion — see the little fried onion? They came out magnifico," Jill said. (If she does say so herself.) And then, it was time to head on over to the dish of matzo balls. Is this when we finally learn the secret ingredient?
Not so fast. "And over here: matzo balls, homemade matzo balls using matzo meal, eggs, salt, and another ingredient that I can't share," Jill said. "It's just my secret to making them phenomenal." Hmm... could it be ... chicken fat?
