Kelly Bensimon Gushes About Her “Epic Power Lunch” on the Same Day the “Power Lunch” Is Declared Officially Dead
The Real Housewives of New York City alum Kelly Bensimon chose an uncanny day to tweet about her "power lunch."
Did Kelly Bensimon score the last-ever reservation for a "power lunch?" In a show of slightly unfortunate timing, The Real Housewives of New York City alum tweeted about an "epic power lunch," on the very same day that the phrase was declared "dead" by New York magazine's food blog.
On the heels of the sudden closure of the Four Seasons Restaurant in New York, Grub Street declared that the shuttering signaled the end of an era — and of a concept. " Of course, the power lunch set is rapidly diminishing, and it’s hardly surprising that a new generation of diners wouldn’t, or couldn’t, create the business that the restaurant needed," writer Chris Crowley noted.
But it looks like at least one New Yorker is still having power lunches. On the same day that that the aforementioned story ran, Kelly tweeted this after a trip to Michael's Restaurant: "Epic power lunch!!! Best Cobb salad ever!!!"
