For Heather Dubrow's Kids, the Dubrow Chateau Basement Is Better than Disney World
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum's basement is a kid's version of heaven.
Remember when you were a kid and your parents would send you and your siblings down to the basement to “play” in that unfinished area off the laundry room that was stacked with a few toys from last Christmas and maybe an old TV with a discontinued game console (if you were lucky)? Well, that is not Heather Dubrow’s basement!
The Real Housewives of Orange Country alum has been giving gracious tours of her fabulous new mega-manse, dubbed Dubrow Chateau, via her popular YouTube channel. She recently unveiled the basement — and count us blown away! It's a veritable kids' fantasyland, and we are not exaggerating. The space is teeming with fun stuff, including air hockey and foosball tables, a dress-up play costume closet, multiple screens for multiple gaming consoles, and a miniparcade. There’s even a theater-style popcorn machine!
Now we’re wondering how Heather ever gets her kids to come upstairs for dinner. Let’s zoom in for a closer look.
"I wanted to the kids to have a fun area with things they like," Heather explained in the tour, "like soda and popcorn and snacks. So I put in this old-fashioned Coke machine." She even had the bottles customized for the family so everyone gets their own personalized drink.
Heather is like all of us in that she loves gooey movie theater popcorn. So when it came time to outfit her kids' space, she was sure to install a machine that makes it just the way she likes it. "I say that the popcorn machine is for the kids but truly it’s for me," she revealed. "I like that salty popcorn that makes your lips pucker and your fingers turn orange with the fake butter. I love that!"
You might not want to let your little Fortnite addicts hear about this one. Heather has included not one but three game screens in her basement so that everyone gets a turn on their favorite console. "The kids can play Wii on one, Playstation, that 4-D thing they do," she says, adding, "I don't know, I'm not good at games but it's fun."
Heather's well-known organizational skills extend to her kids' dress-up closet, where she has all of their costumes and accessories organized in a special wardrobe. "I thought that my kids would grow out of the costume phase," she admitted, "but you know what I found? Junior high, high school, they have dances, they have crazy hat day, they need silly things all the time."
When it's time to move on from dress-up play, the Dubrow kids can take their pick of either ice hockey or foosball.
Or the family can head over to their mini-arcade, where there's even a game customized for dad Terry's TV show Botched — along with a pinball machine, basketball toss, and Stacker video game. "This area is so much fun when we have lots of people here and everyone is playing different games,” noted Heather.
With so much to explore, we don't doubt that one bit!
