Emily Simpson Won't Let Gaining "12-15 Pounds...Ruin My Day"
The Real Housewives of Orange County rookie addressed the common struggle of fluctuating weight, and her perfect body-positive mindset.
The Real Housewives of Orange County's Emily Simpson has a refreshingly level head when it comes to body image. The statuesque beauty is in fabulous shape. Like all of us, however, Emily sees her weight vacillate from time to time — and guess what? No number on the scale is going to dictate how this fierce lady feels about herself.
In a recent Instagram Story, Emily answered a fan's question with some self-lovin' words to live by. "How do you stay so body positive? Do you ever get down on yourself?" the fan asked? First, let's pause to review some context.
In the past, Emily has used her platform to spread empowering messages. Once, she quite rightly pointed out that it is never OK to "call a woman fat." (Thank you, Emily.) Another time, the 'Wife shared these wise words: "Listen to me....be your OWN kind of cool. Find a style that works for your body type and rock it."
So when the fan asked how Emily stays so positive, that person was referring to Emily's seemingly relentless positivity. But here's what the Orange County mama had to say: "Oh yes! I definitely have my days. I've gained about 12-15 pounds over the past 8 months and I'm not happy about it. But I'm trying not to let it ruin my day."
Emily continued: "Life is short. My kids will only be this little for a brief moment in time. So I try to focus on the fact that I might not be the ideal weight or size right now ... but I'm still a good mom, a good person, a good friend, and I can still look good and be confident!"
Right on, Emily! The 'Wife has recently posted two swimsuit snaps that show her and a group of pals who all have different (and equally gorgeous) body types. Whether she's rocking a black bathing suit or a white look with a sexy sheer midriff, the Orange County mama looks like a million bucks.
And to anyone who disagrees, Emily wrote this: "EVERY time you leave me a nasty message it just FUELS me to do more, be better, inspire more women, be kinder, and to be even MORE confident in myself, my body, my looks and my life. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for instilling such a passion in me to just work harder and achieve even more! I love you!"
