Kelly Dodd Gives Us an Update on Her New, Post-Divorce Home

And The Real Housewives of Orange County mom spills the tea on what she's missing most about her old digs.

By Courtney Thompson

Anyone who’s ever been through a divorce knows that the experience is rife with highs and lows. Moving on can be equal parts invigorating and heartrending. The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Kelly Dodd has experienced just this — especially when it comes to her homes — as she explained when she stopped by our offices this week.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

“My favorite part about living where I live now is that I live on the beach,” she said of the condo she recently signed a six-month lease on. “I love listening to the waves, I love listening to the activity that goes on, I love people laughing and hearing the kids, but mostly at night I hear the waves crash and that’s so soothing, there’s just something about it it’s just that you can’t explain.”

Her new spread is also working for her daughter, Jolie. "I love all my neighbors on the street and my daughter, she really has a good time there," Kelly said. "She has her bikes, she has her boogie boards, she has her friends over and, you know, I’m living by myself, I don’t want a big place, cause I get scared!"

What about that gorgeous 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom Corona del Mar mansion she lived in with ex-husband Michael Dodd? Well, yeah, she loved that one, too. “I built that house from the ground up, so I miss everything about it!” she admitted. “I had a steam shower, I had a La Cornue range. I had a bar on every floor, I had a Kegerator, I had an ice machine.”

The good news is that former couple sold that house for a whopping $5 million — which is a lot more than the $3.75 million they paid for the property in 2014. Hilarious, small Bravo world side note: Leo Goldschwartz of the McMonigle Group, a.k.a. one of the cast members of Real Estate Wars, was the listing agent.

Money aside, Kelly is always one to see the silver lining, saying, “I’ll get there again. I just loved everything about [my old house] and I miss it! Very, very much … I’ll get there again.”

What’s up next for the single mom and budding fashion entrepreneur? While her daughter Jolie is at sleepaway camp in northern California this summer, Kelly is headed to Europe  … and she’ll figure out her living situation when things settle down a bit. “Eventually I’m gonna buy a place,” she told us. “I’m looking right now actually. I just haven’t had time to really get down. I have a lot going on, yes. I don’t want to build again, I just want to move in and be done with it.”

See images of the 4,400 home Kelly shared with her ex Michael and daughter Jolie below.

Located behind the gates of a private drive, Kelly's former home was known as Breakers on the Beach. Fancy!

Disappearing sliders made Kelly's indoor/outdoor floor plan seamless. Those beach views, though.

The highlight of Kelly's kitchen was a La Cornue range. (FYI, those puppies start at $10,000 and can go up to $500,000!)

Within walking distance of the Corona del Mar village, the home also featured light floors and super modern decor.
