Emily Simpson on Why She Dissolved Her Facial Fillers: I Had a "Cabbage Patch Look"
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member felt her face looked "smashed” after the cosmetic procedure.
On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen's January 12 episode, Adriana de Moura claimed that facial filler "makes you look like a grouper" — and Emily Simpson was quick to agree based on her own experience.
“I think you can get too much, and then you start to look, like [Adriana] said, a grouper," The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member explained. "I got that Cabbage Patch look, where you’re like, you know, smashed.”
In August 2021, Emily revealed that she turned to Dr. Jen Armstrong to dissolve most of her filler after she wasn't happy with her new look. Explaining to PEOPLE that she hadn't "had any fillers done for at least a year or more," Emily shared: "I believe the filler had migrated on my face, and there was too much right underneath my eyes."
"I recently started noticing that I didn't like how I looked in photos, and it was hard to see my eyes when I smiled," she continued. "I knew there was a build-up of too much filler in the wrong places."
Emily's RHOC castmate Shannon Storms Beador also recently opened up about her less-than-satisfactory experience with filler. "Everything plumped up," she recalled on the show's December 15 episode, "and I still can't recognize myself."
